HeatWorks – seventh issue coming

24 August, 2012

The summer – such as it was - has given the Ceramicx factory a well earned breather. The Ceramicx kiln and all systems are now re-fired and ready for full production. And over the past few weeks Ceramicx writers, associates and correspondents have not been idle. And as September and the new learning season approaches it gives me great pleasure to be getting the next edition of HeatWorks magazine ready for printing. The magazine will be distributed throughout September 2012. Once again we have a varied IR based menu for you within its pages. I am personally very excited about the pioneering work being done by Trinity College Dublin on IR heating and the human thermoregulatory system. There's a very significant body of knowledge building up there - and Ceramicx intends to be a part of it for many years to come. Further afield it’s great to see the IR heating expansion taking place in the USA thanks to the efforts and energy behind the WECO/Ceramicx partnership: Process control is a key part of that growth and HeatWorks VII will contain a significant piece on the development of the Hetronik HC500 system. Also within HeatWorks VII - and as part of our Chinaplas report - you will find my thoughts on the need to bring the professional world of IR heating into the 21st Century. For too long now, IR heating has been seen as a 'black art' - by its practitioners and by its customers. That has to change and it will. Ceramicx is making all available efforts to introduce transparency to the process and to replace outmoded testing methods (such as those for temperature alone) with the real deal. Elsewhere, we have reports from South Africa, the wisdom of Dr Andrew Lynch on what truly matters for small to medium sized firms; details of product simulation software and much more. Please don’t hesitate to join the HeatWorks magazine reading club.  Simply apply direct to us at Ceramicx for your free copy. I look forward to meeting you within its pages. Many thanks again.
