A Season for Germany
17 July, 2013
Once again we’re drawing up plans to communicate various topical and Infrared heating matters within the pages of our next HeatWorks magazine.
Various circumstances have come together to make this forthcoming 10th HeatWorks edition known as the ‘German’ issue.
Not only will we run extensive print previews of all our preparations for the big plastics fair in Dusseldorf this October we shall also be featuring the latest on our IR machine tool to be unveiled at the show, and we shall also be taking an in-depth look at our esteemed German distributor, Friedr Freek. We’re looking forward immensely to the exhibition and we have a great blend of new science and commerce to offer key players in German industry.
It just so happened that on June 22nd I shared a speaking platform with Sean O’Driscoll Group Chief Executive of the Glenn Dimplex Group. The event was the Rosscarbery Summer School and the theme was the common ground in various elements shared between West Cork and Germany.
In my presentation I discovered that Ceramicx shares very many of the values and qualities that are common to German manufacturing SME companies. This group of family owned businesses, known as the Mittelstand; accounts for over 70% of employment in Germany and is extremely integral to success of the country’s economy in the past 50 years.
HeatWorks 10 will unveil an edited version of my presentation and will share the thinking that has seen Ceramicx model the best of the Mittelstand ethic and use it in the service of our business.
The truth is that every manufacturer in Europe should take note of the successful approach deployed by Germany’s Mittelstand companies.
It continues to be the definitive manufacturing model for our times and Ceramicx will stay close to it for the indefinite future.
We look forward to sharing all of this with you in the pages of HeatWorks in a few weeks time.
Many thanks again
