K 2013 exhibition – it just gets better and better
23 October, 2013
The world’s leading plastics show is currently drawing to a close here in Dusseldorf Germany. In reviewing the eight days here it’s fair to say that Ceramicx has enjoyed its best ever exhibiting experience there.
It is reported that the total K 2013 show visitor numbers were slightly ahead of the 2010 event. However, the quality of our enquiries through the eight days showed a significant uplift from the last time. My guess is that as the plastics industry itself matures and gets more experienced and more ambitious in its methods so we at Ceramicx are able to take our customers to the next level – helping them with their manufacturing aspirations and in their plastics processing techniques and management.
I would therefore say that the K 2013 show had the feel of the ‘plastics insider’; more experienced processors visiting us; many experienced distributors wanting to help us in our worldwide business; much more OEM interest and much machine building interest also – not least from our colleagues involved in thermoforming machinery
Our new Innovation Centre – as physically demonstrated by our test machine The Herschel - was a key draw in that last aspect. Ceramicx is now able to accurately map the previously invisible IR heating spectrum through our new instrument - a key asset, for example, to anyone designing a plastics thermoforming machine. We see great potential in that and in the services for industry coming out of our new Innovation Centre.
We also see a growing future for the worldwide plastics manufacturing industries both in terms of volume thermoformed packaging and also in the large structures market. In the latter area reinforced plastic composites have a key role to play and Ceramicx IR-based heat solutions also have a vital and enabling role to play.
Accordingly the next exhibition in our sights is at the NEC, Birmingham, England this November 12-13 for the Composites Engineering Show.
Ceramicx will be attending. Simply contact us directly for further details of our IR heat work in composites and reinforced plastics and we will be happy to help you.
